Home / Estate dues collection

Dues collection that stops being a monthly campaign.

Bill every house automatically, let reminders do the chasing, take payment by card or transfer, and hand the next exco a record that was complete before they asked for it.

The problem

Somebody always has to be the bad person.

There is always a reason, and always a next week. Collection becomes a monthly campaign run by volunteers who also have jobs.

House to house, every month

The treasurer knocks on doors, hears the same reasons, and comes back next week. It is unpaid work and it damages neighbourly relations.

Records in a notebook

A personal account, a notebook and a WhatsApp thread. Honest excos still end up unable to prove where the money went.

Defaulter lists in the group

Public shaming becomes the only enforcement tool available, and neighbours fall out over it.

How it works

Billing that runs without anyone chasing it.

1

Houses are loaded once

Every house, every resident, and the amount each one is billed. Exemptions where the committee has agreed them.

2

Bills go out on a schedule

Automatically, to every household, in the app. Nobody has to remember to send them.

3

Reminders follow on their own

Polite, timed, and impersonal. No member of the exco has to be the one asking.

4

Residents pay by card or transfer

From their phone, with a receipt, at whatever hour suits them. No cash handed to a neighbour.

5

Every naira is written as it happens

The treasurer sees the position at any moment, and the next exco inherits a complete record rather than a reconstruction.

What the committee gets

The part that matters at the AGM.

A live position

What has been billed, what has come in, and what is outstanding, per house and in total.

A receipt for every payment

Issued automatically, so no resident has to ask for proof and no treasurer has to write one.

Records that survive handover

Written as the work happened, not assembled afterwards from memory and bank statements.

A resident wallet

Residents can hold a balance and pay dues, bills and services from it, which raises the chance a bill is settled on time.

Bills alongside dues

Airtime, data, electricity and cable in the same place, so the app is opened between dues cycles rather than once a month.

Your dues stay yours

Kompound does not take a percentage of what the estate collects.

Questions we get

What estates ask before they decide.

How does an estate dues collection app work?
Every house on the estate is billed automatically on a schedule the committee sets. Residents see what they owe in the app and pay by card or bank transfer. Each payment is recorded the moment it lands, with a receipt, so the treasurer never has to reconcile a bank statement against a notebook.
Does Kompound take a percentage of our dues?
No. The dues your estate collects belong to the estate. Kompound does not take a percentage of them. What your residents pay in, your treasury receives.
Can residents pay by bank transfer?
Yes. Card and bank transfer are both supported, and every payment produces a receipt in the app. Residents can also keep a wallet balance and pay from it.
What about residents who do not pay?
Reminders go out automatically so nobody on the exco has to chase house to house. The committee can see exactly who is outstanding and by how much, without a defaulter list being posted in the estate group.
What happens at handover to a new exco?
Every payment was documented as it happened, so the record is already complete when the new committee takes over. There is no reconstruction from memory and no gap that has to be explained at the AGM.
Can we bill different houses different amounts?
Yes. Amounts can differ by house and exemptions can be set where the committee has agreed them, so the system reflects what the estate actually decided rather than forcing one figure on everybody.
