What is Kompound?
Kompound is an estate management app for gated residential estates and compounds in Nigeria. It runs the gate with visitor codes and barrier control, collects dues and payments, handles emergency alerts and issue reporting, and lets residents book vetted artisans. It is live on Google Play and the App Store.
Does the gate keep working when there is no network?
Yes. The approved visitor list is held on the barrier controller and on the gate phone, not only in the cloud, so a code is checked at the gate without waiting for the network. A pass created during an outage reaches the gate the moment the connection returns, and the gate says plainly when a pass is not on its list yet.
How do residents let visitors in?
A resident creates a visitor pass in the app and gets a six digit code, which they can send on WhatsApp. The visitor shows it at the gate, the gateman keys it in or the barrier terminal reads it, and entry and exit are both recorded with the host and the visitor photo. Codes can be one time or reusable, and they expire.
How does dues collection work?
Every house is billed automatically, reminders go out, and residents pay by card or bank transfer from the app. Every payment is written as it happens with a receipt, so the treasurer always knows where the estate stands and the next exco inherits clean records.
Does Kompound work with our existing barrier and gate hardware?
Kompound runs on a gate phone on its own, and it can drive boom barriers and access terminals directly where compatible hardware is installed. If your estate already has a barrier, we will confirm compatibility during the demo.
How long does setup take?
Days, not months. Houses and residents are loaded, the gate app is installed on the gate phone, and the first visitor pass can be issued the same day.
